The active, rotational movements at the outer articular limits of a specific joint.
What are the functions and uses of CARs?
CARs is the base program for Functional Range Conditioning® because it teaches and demonstrates the neurological control at the deepest connective tissue: the joints. By performing CARs daily, ranges of motion are maintained, articular health and longevity are sustained, and they flood the Central Nervous System (CNS) with feedback on how the joints are functioning daily or in regards to joint specific rehab.
How does it work?
Based on clinical research on the biology and physiology of the body, the innermost tissue of joints, the articular capsules, have a high density of nerve receptors (called mechanoreceptors) in the joint. that are the first to perceive movement. Feedback from surrounding connective tissue is directly communicated to the central nervous system (CNS). By actively working the capsules at articular end ranges, the CNS is flooded with complex and multi-directional/rotational info from the mechanoreceptors, restoring:
joint stability to maintain strength in outer limits; mobility with stability
tissue adaptations and function in forced ranges = injury prevention/joint protection
neuromuscular motor program retraining = more options to choose to move from
Overall joint health and longevity by breaking up soft tissue layers to ensure blood flow and ensure tissue sliding for motion
